Winner at last

My wife woke me up from my sleep last night and told me there is already a winner on the 6/55 grand lotto. The winning number combination was 11-16-31-37-42-47 and the jackpot prize of 741,176,323.20 pesos has been won by only ONE winner.

To the winner, congratulations. I hope you are not a corrupt government official nor a priest who keeps on meddling with the government. XD

Back to 30 million pesos I guess. XD

10 years after I graduated from college (Where my career is at right now)

Its been a long time since I graduated from college. Ten years is really a long time. I remember, it was 2000 when that was the last time I saw some of my schoolmates from different courses as I cherished their friendship and camaraderie along the way. Parting was a sad thing to remember. Good thing I still keep in touch with some of my closest friends during college which comprise of my groupmates in our design subjects.

Years have passed, most of them were already working and/or living abroad. Some are already managers in their chosen career. Others chose a different path and have enjoyed it as well. Unfortunately for some, a few passed away at a very young age.

For me, the road was not that easy. First, I've wasted almost 3 years in the academe as an instructor in a prestigious computer college in the south. Though I've enjoyed the company of my students and fellow faculty members and officers, I paid the price of not keeping myself updated with the latest trends and technologies within my chosen profession. More so, the demand for IT-related jobs seems to increase rapidly during those times. I had to quit my teaching job and wandered for a year jobless. The following year, I accepted an offer to work in a Manufacturing Company as a Quality Assurance Engineer. The experience was good but I wasn't able to find the answer I was looking for. I resigned for the second time a year after and wanted to try the field of IT or better known as Information Technology. Then after 2 weeks, I landed a job in the Call Center Industry. My stint there was the longest I experienced. My duration there was longer than my two previous jobs combined. I enjoyed my job there mostly because of the pay and benefits I'm receiving from them. In return, I performed my duties to the best of my ability. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end as I resigned from my call center work.

It took me 8 months that includes helping my ex-girlfriend (now my wife) on our wedding plus adjusting to a new life in Manila before landing the job I have right now. I think I would stay in this field for the rest of my days as this is really the path that I wanted to take. After 10 years, now I know I had to work hard to make-up for lost time and to gain the knowledge that I should have learned a long time ago.

My November to-do list (Final Update)

As of November 29, here is the final update of what I have done so far this month.

Thoughts on the 6/55 Grand Lotto Tonight

Tonight, the jackpot for the 6/55 grand lotto would reach to more than 700 million pesos. As it grows more and more while no one has yet won the coveted prize, some people who claims to be smart (without them knowing it), wanted to make changes of it. An ex-priest (not sure if I got this right) wanted a lesser evil in the form of 6/42. He thinks that more people would win more because of the lesser odds of winning compared to the 6/55. He may be right but the probability is just less than the other. Meaning, it would take some time to win it. And besides, 6/42 is already a thing of the past. I used to play that back in college XD. Meanwhile, one congressman wanted to have a jackpot cap on the 6/55 to 500 million pesos. What was he thinking? Though I know his intention of not making people get way too hooked on this game, putting a cap doesn't make sense to me. Its like killing the business itself. And besides, a portion of your 20-peso bet goes to charity (probably between 25-35%) already XD.

Well all bettors would have plans of donating their winnings (if they win XD) to charity as a way of giving back to community. And I know as long as there are people who believe in the game, it will last for a long long time.

Two in a row

Thank God I was able to get at least 7 hours of undisturbed sleep for 2 consecutive days. It really helped me somehow in making my night work easier.

I hope it could always be this way. I mean getting at least 7 hours of sleep without being bothered. XD

The need to learn wireless

Current mood: Thirsty

A few hours ago, I got a call from one of the VPs of the company where I work and he needs assistance in connecting to the internet using wireless. Unfortunately, I don't have enough knowledge nor experience in troubleshooting wireless issues but I did my best in determining the actual problem as well as giving a work-around for the time being while looking for a possible way to have his problem permanently fixed.

Since I've started working as an IT Helpdesk, I've encountered numerous kinds of issues regarding computers. And working with wireless or internet is one of my weaknesses. Even during my TSR days a few years back, troubleshooting something related to the internet are one of the things that I dread the most because aside from its broad, its painstaking to be over the phone for at least an hour to get the problem fixed.

Well, now is the time for me to buckle-up and get to learn more about internet and wireless troubleshooting since I only have 10 more months to go here at my work. XD

Thoughts on renewing my ECE License

Current mood: Puzzled.

Taken from Google

While waiting for our shift to finish, my colleague showed me a link regarding an upcoming convention on Dec 7-9, 2010. It was facilitated by IECEP which I used to know this organization very well when I was in college a decade ago. But through the years, it has changed and I've missed a lot of it not knowing if I could still keep myself up to date with its latest trends and technologies. More so, Ive checked the website of the Professional Regulatory Board or PRC and it has changed a lot since the last time I visited it. It was more organized and much better as well.

I'm still thinking whether I would renew my PRC license or not. Since I've made my move to IT, I wasn't able to keep in touch with the ECE in me. Now is probably the time for me to trace back my ECE roots. XD

Kuwait bans use of DSLRs in streets and malls

While browsing through the threads of Pipho, I stumbled upon this article about the ban of DSLR in Kuwait's streets and malls. You may want to check it here. I don't know what happens when someone gets caught taking pictures in a foreign land but here, they (security guards) would simply reprimand you and shoo you away =P.

Multi ministry camera ban frustrates artists

Published Date: November 20, 2010
By Abdullah Al-Qattan, Staff Writer

KUWAIT: After the ban three ministries placed on photography, most Kuwaiti youth are a bit confused about what to do with their cameras if they can't use them in public and why such laws were implemented in the first place. The Ministry of Information, Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Finance recently came to the conclusion that photography should be used for journalism purposes only. This has resulted in the ban of Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras (DSLRs) in public, on the streets and in malls.

What most Kuwaiti photographers have come to wonder is how such a decision could be reached by authorities, especially considering that digital cameras and cell phone cameras have the same abilities. What most people think of photography as a hobby has become a bit misguided due to the fact that the country has so little exposure to art. While using a DSLR, passersby may wonder if the camera is being used for the wrong reasons.

Mohammed Al-Eisa, who picked up photography as a hobby more than 10 years ago, said that he has decided to take photos of animals or still life due to the fact that these subjects don't mind having their picture taken and don't make a scene. "I started facing problems the very first day I bought my camera," Mohammed added.

What often happens is that a big black camera tends to worry people. Taking a picture of a stranger would seem like much less of an issue if you were using a more discreet camera or even a cell phone. Mariam Al-Fodiry said that she has faced similar problems with her hobby and that being a girl doesn't help at all. She said that in some cases it makes the problem even worse. "Switching to abstract and landscape photography was one the options I considered after getting into enough trouble," Mariam said.

Majed Al-Saqer said that sometimes people stop him while he is in his car with his camera, as if he were planning to kill someone with it. He said that he isn't sure what the real problem is, whether it is people taking photos of each other or the size of the camera.

Honestly, I don't understand fully why some people go nuts or paranoid about people with big cameras while they let point-and-shoot users take pictures. =P

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Taken from Google

Today marks the Thanksgiving Day in the United States, Canada and some countries as well as most of them considers this as one of the most important occasion.

According to some websites, Thanksgiving Day is a joyous family festival celebrated with lot of enthusiasm in US, Canada and several other countries. Thanksgiving Day Festival commemorates the feast held by the Pilgrim colonists and members of the Wampanoag people at Plymouth in 1621. On this day people express gratitude to God for his blessings and give thanks to dear ones for their love & support. Feasting with family is an integral & most delightful part of Thanksgiving Day celebrations.

Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Traditionally, it has been a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. While it may have been religious in origin, Thanksgiving is now primarily identified as a secular holiday. It is sometimes casually referred to as Turkey Day. In Canada, Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the second Monday in October, which is Columbus Day in the United States. In the United States, it falls on the fourth Thursday of November. The precise historical origin of the holiday is disputed. Although Americans commonly believe that the first Thanksgiving happened in 1621 at Plymouth, Massachusetts, there is strong evidence for earlier celebrations in Canada (1578) and by Spanish explorers in Florida (1565). Thanksgiving Day is also celebrated in Leiden, in the Netherlands. A different holiday which uses the same name is celebrated at a similar time of year in the island of Grenada.

Unfortunately, we don't have Thanksgiving here in Manila that's why we will be handling US issues for the next 2 nights. XD

The week that was (Nov 14 - 20)

Sunday: I got an email from one of our clients at around 2:00am and I tried my best to have it resolved. Unfortunately, I have to escalate it to the US Helpdesk team. Then after shift, I made sure to pass by San Juan to have my Pares for breakfast and got my Sunday's paper before going home. I went to bed at around 10:00am and got up at 2:00pm to watch the Paquaio-Margarito fight. Then I went outside to go online for an hour before attending mass at 7:00pm. Good thing I wasn't that sleepy then. When we got home, we had our dinner and enjoyed for a few more hours before going to bed.

Monday: I got up at around 2:00am only to get up at bed at around 3:00am after being unable to get back to sleep again. I went down to go online for a couple of hours. I just worked on my Mafia Wars and other online stuff. I went out at 7:00am to have breakfast outside. Then I read some Sunday's paper before waking my wife up. I was supposed to watch DVD but when I got to watch game 7 of the NBA Finals, I got glued into it. As soon as she got up, I went to SM Manila to settle our Sun Broadband. Then I went back home right away to have lunch but it was traffic on my back so I had to walk from UE which took me atleast 10 minutes. Then at around 2:00pm, my wife and I went to Ariel Javelosa's Studio to view the updated final video since my wife made some revisions. After watching the video, my wife was convinced and we can get all the final product by Friday but we decided to get it on the 6th of December to coincide with our first anniversary. Then we went home right away but my wife wanted to have this double down from KFC which I obliged. We were able to get it near San Sebatian College. We really enjoyed it except that its quite salty. Then finally, we went home. I went outside again to play the 6/55 Grand Lotto and went back home right away to fix some more things before finally going to sleep at around 10:30pm.

Tuesday: Got up at around 6:00am and went downstairs to go online. To my surprise, my wife got up early and wanted to go out and walk around the block. We went out and walked for at least 30 minutes. We talked almost anything that we had in our mind. We passed by at Victory Liner near our area. Now I know where we would go when we resumed our plans to go to Baguio. I made sure to get some sleep since I'll be working that night. On my way to the office via MRT, I almost snapped-out after this fellow claims I've hit his kid while boarding the MRT at the Cubao station. He kept on talking like a woman but I apologized and ignored him. If his wife didn't stand between us and his kid with them, he could have got what he wanted (to be beaten up). Eventually, I keep my cool and just think of good things. Good thing I got in the office early.

Wednesday: After my shift, I went home right away via Ortigas route but I got my taho for breakfast first. As I got home, I noticed my wife was still sleeping soundly so I didn't wake her up right away. I got to bed at around 9:15am and got up at around 4:00pm. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get back to sleep so I went online for a short while before watching Ultraviolet on DVD.I got in the office early which makes it two in a row.

Thursday: Work was quite steady since I didn't got much work. had my tipid lunch (or should I say breakfast at Jollbee) and I got really full. After my shift, I went home right away since I wanted to get some more sleep.

Friday: I got some calls which I need to escalate since they were beyond our boundaries. Then after shift, I went to Harrison Plaza to meet my mom there to handover some soiled clothes again. I had a quick breakfast again at Intramuros to ease my problem of indigestion due to excessive chocolate drink intake a few hours ago.

Saturday: We got a bit busy as as soon as the US team handed the phone calls to us. We got at least 9 calls before our shift ended. I have learned a lot from that experience as well since I do need more of it so that my IT career will blossom into a better one. I left the office at around 7:15am and took a cab which took me less than 30 minutes to get home. I was able to doze-off at 8:00am. Unfortunately at 11:00am, I wasn't able to get some more sleep. From there, I just watched TV and prepared myself to attend the Manila Auto Salon at SMX Convention Center. But I noticed my eyesight was getting blurry even with my eyeglasses on. Then after the event, I left SMX so I could have my dinner before going to office. I was supposed to have my Sushi dinner but unfortunately, the place was packed with people and I can't afford to wait for an available table. I left SM MOA and went to the office early.

My Manila Auto Salon 2010 Expirience

One of two car shots

Two of two car shots

Earlier this afternoon, I went to SMX in Pasay City to attend The Manila Auto Salon 2010. This event is usually held between the 3rd and 4th week of November from Thursday to Sunday. As most people from all walks of life come here to check out on cars and trucks, most photographers (like me) hang out with fellow photographers and check out for any new car show models there aside from checking the cars as well XD.

I got there at around 4:00pm after having only 3 hours of sleep no thanks to the excitement that build-up on me XD. I was keen on going there the next day instead as I need to get more sleep but since I promised my wife to stay home on Sundays, I still push through with going there despite lack of sleep.

I scouted the area again and it was almost the same for cars and probably for car show models except for a few whom I saw for the first time earlier and some of those who have returned to the modeling circuit. I saw some of my friends who went there ahead of me and they were able to check the entire area already. Probably they're on their second round of taking pictures of the models while I'm just starting XD.

Anyway, I did my usual round of familiarizing with the area along with shooting left and right (of models) before going shooting full time for about 3-4 hours. After shooting carshow models, I focused more on cars but I haven't shot much of them in the past few carshows.

I was satisfied with the event and I'm looking forward to do it better next year ^_^.

Here are the rest of the pictures for you guys to enjoy. ^_^

Missed event

Last week, I missed an FHM Autograph Signing for the Month of November. This is the first time I'll be missing an FHM Autograph Signing not because of unavoidable circumstances just like last July 2009. But rather, I'm not exactly sure why I missed this event on purpose. Probably one reason I could think of is because they were featured in FHM before. Well, I think its ok to miss some once in a while or until my wife understands completely. XD

The week that was (Nov 7 - 13)

Sunday: I got up at around 1:00am after taking an hour of nap. While doing my thing in the comfort room, our mobile phone just rang and I had to take that call. Good thing I was able to escalate it before my shift ends. Though I wanted to get some sleep, I wasn't able to fall asleep. My colleague arrived early and I got to go out and buy myself some breakfast. Unfortunately, the one that I was looking for was closed. I went back and had my breakfast at 7-11 before going home. As I got home, I made sure I soaked my laundry for me to wash that night. I slept for about 3-4 hours but it felt that I wasn't able to get enough sleep. Then, my wife and I went to Robinson's Galeria to visit the Edsa Shrine and attend the 3:00pm mass. Since we got there at past 3:00pm, we strolled around the mall and look for a place to eat. Again, we had Cajun for our late lunch with ribs as our main order. I felt really full after our meal as well as I feel very sleepy. Even during the 6:00pm mass, I can't help it but to shut my eyes at times and I can't seem to control it. As we commute back home, I almost fall asleep completely but my wife kept me awake for the rest of our trip back home. As we got back home, I went upstairs to get my complete rest. Probably, that was 8:00pm when I hit the sack.

Monday: I got up at around 4:00am and just went online.I still feel my body sore after my weekend activities.I did some light work like reading Sunday's newspaper as well as doing some laundry as well. Around 2 or 3pm, I went to SM Manila to look for a card case for my photography ID's as well as to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks to start collecting those stickers again. Then I got home and made sure I was able to rest well.

Tuesday: Got up at 4:00am since I'm having a hard time getting some sleep.I went online to do some personal stuff so that it will help me fall asleep in the afternoon. I got late since traffic was kinda heavy at Gil Puyat Ave.

Wednesday: Work was quite steady during our shift. Had lunch at 7-11 which I ate it at my desk while net surfing. After work, I went to Harrison Plaza to meet my mom and give some soiled clothes to her. Then I went to Intramuros to have my chicken meal there before finally going home. I still have the urge to eat some more dessert in the form of bread before getting home. Then I was able to get some good sleep before reporting back to office even if I got there late.

Thursday: As I got home, I noticed my wife got up earlier than the usual and she was having breakfast. She told me she wasn't able to get some sleep the previous night. I went to sleep at around 9:00am only to get up at 3:00pm and wasn't able to fall back asleep again. Then my wife got hungry and wanted me to buy pancit palabok at Jollibee. I tried to leave home early only to arrive late again in the office.

Friday: My shift was quite ok as we got a few calls. I got home early and was able to cozy-up before going to bed. My wife was still sleeping so I just went to sleep as well. Good thing, I was able to get some sleep during the day. Then I made sure to get myself ready for work.

Saturday: Work was light as I did some of the emails. Though I felt I was not in the mood to cooperate as I wanted to go home right away to get some rest. I stopped by at one of the Pares Eatery in San Juan before reaching home. I was able to go to bed early. But my sleep wasn't that nice since I wasn't able to sleep at least 7 hours straight. As I got up the second time, I prepared myself for work and left two hours early. I took the bus for leverage. I got in the office at 9:15pm and made sure to get ready through my shift. I was able to arrive there early for the first time in a week. And that was the only time I didn't got late. XD

Eid ul Adha

Today marks the Festival of Sacrifice of what our Muslim brothers called Eid al-Adha.

Eid al-Adha or "Festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid" is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Isma'il) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a ram to sacrifice instead. The meat is divided into three parts to be distributed to others. The family retains one third of the share, another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors, and the other third is given to the poor & needy.

Eid al-Adha is celebrated annually on the 10th day of the 12th and the last Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah of the lunar Islamic calendar. Eid al-Adha celebrations start after the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide, descend from Mount Arafat. The date is approximately 70 days (2 Months & 10 days) after the end of the month of Ramadan, i.e. Eid-ul-Fitr. Ritual observance of the holiday lasts until sunset of the 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah.

An unprecedented 8th title for the People's Champ

Picture from Pacland

Held at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium last night (US Time), millions of people were glued to their TV sets  as they watch the fight between Manny Paquiao and Antonio Margarito. This was also Paquiao's 2nd fight here at the said stadium.

Against someone bigger and heavier than him, Paquiao utilizes his speed and quickness to the fullest as the was able to connect a series of punches to Margarito left and right. and that style never fails Paquiao in getting his victory over his opponent. I thought Paquiao would be able to knock Margarito out of his senses but the former three-time champion held on his own but lost to a unanimous decision to the Filipino fighter.

With another title in his list, whats next for our peoples champion? Beating Mayweather to a pulp? If that match won't materialize, he could look for someone else to fight instead of trading words with Mayweather since that is not Paquiao's style.

Again, congratulations Pacman. You gave me a reason why I am proud to be a Filipino. XD

Thursday, November 11

The week that was (Oct 31 - November 6)

Sunday: After the Vixens event, we went to Shakeys in Makati Ave to enjoy our time we spent a while ago at LAX though the event itself was a little bit disappointing.I got home at 3:00am and went online for atleast an hour before going to bed. I stayed home almost the entire day. All of a sudden, I had an impulse to look for my father-in-law's grave to pay respects for him since I won't be able to go home to Batangas to visit my folks there. I stayed there for a couple of hours and I wrote to him as well so he would be able to read it.Then after I visit him, I went back home to take some rest and make myself feel sleepy.

Monday: I got up at 3:30 am and wasn't able to get sleep since then. I went down to go online for a couple of hours before going again to my father-in-law's grave. I spent some time there praying together with my mother-in-law. Then I went to Quiapo to buy some spare batteries for my external flash but unfortunately, the store was closed. So I decided to head east and go to Robinson's Galeria to buy a new headphone for my work PC. After checking their cdr-king branch there, I am not yet fully convinced so I went to SM Megamall to check if there were headphones available without the microphone part. But unfortunately, they don't have it anymore as I bought the one with a microphone attached but the headpiece was very similar to the one that I had before. Then, I had an urge to watch a movie since I need to kill time. I decided to watch "The Social Network" but I was an hour early for the first film. I walked around the mall and checked-out some items before going back to the movie area. I made sure to buy my favorite Nachos before watching the film. After watching that interesting movie, I went home right away to take a bath and relax some more. I made sure to get myself very sleepy before hitting the sack.

Tuesday: Got up again at 3:30am after some drama at the room by my wife. She got hungry that time so I brought her some spaghetti from the refrigerator and made her a glass of milk as well. Good thing everything went alright now and she was able to rest. I went online for a while before I went to Harrison Plaza to meet my mom there and give her my SSS contribution for the 4th quarter of this year while having breakfast at KFC. But before that, we went to Shopwise to look for some necessities for my wife like some fruits.I got back home early so that I would be able to get some sleep in the afternoon. I got up at around 7:00pm to get myself ready for work.

Wednesday: Work was quite ok since we were complete during the shift. I was able to watch some previous episodes of Imortal on youtube as well as do some personal editing on my blog. After my shift, I went home right away to get some much needed sleep since I need to take my wife to the hospital for her monthly check-up. It didn't took us that long to reach the hospital. I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat from a distance since my wife was in the room together with her doctor. After the check-up, we went down to have our early dinner first. Then all of a sudden I felt very sleepy and while on our way back home, my wife told me to take a time-off so that I would get more sleep. I heeded to my wife's advice and inform my colleagues that I won't be able to report for that night. As we got home, I lay down on our bed and fell asleep. My wife woke me up at 9:00pm to have our dinner. From there, I had an urge to change my mind and report to office but my body didn't cooperate with me so I just stayed home and watched more tv before finally calling it a day.

Thursday: Got up at almost 6:00am so that I would be able to have enough time to make myself sleepy in the afternoon. I left home at 10:00am to go to Quiapo to buy myself an extra set of batteries as well as an extension cord. After getting those, I went home right away to get myself sleepy and fall asleep. Then I hurriedly reported to office to join my colleagues in their shift.

Friday: Work was quite abundant in the office during my shift as I complete email requests. Then I went out to have my lunch at Jollibee. I also saw the promo for Starbucks regarding their 2011 planner. Perhaps, I should start collecting those stickers again. After my shift, I went home to get some rest and made sure to get up a bit early since its my rest day (vacation leave). I prepared my things for the Photomarathon so that it would be easy for me to access them. It took me a while though to make myself fall asleep.

Saturday: I got up at 4:00am, excited with the upcoming event from Canon. I wanted to get some more sleep but I'm having problems sleeping back. So I just took a quick breakfast before going to SMX for the Canon Photomarathon 2010. That day was really tiring but I really enjoyed the event. After that, I took a cab to the office. I was able to make myself feel comfortable before being able to doze-off before midnight.

NU's Last Goodbye (From Youtube)

This was NU's Last Dance. Ang Huling El Bimbo. Thanks for the Memories NU especially during the times we thought rock and roll was dead.

Everyone was crying after the song. Long Live NU 107.5. Your Music will never be forgotten.

Start for the Starbucks 2011 Planner Hunt

Taken from Google

Yesterday, I passed by at Starbucks at SM Manila not just to get a hot cup of Hot Mocha but also, to start collecting those stickers for my next Starbucks Planner. If I would be able to complete this, it would be my 5th Starbucks Planner since 2007. XD All I have to do is to complete the 17 stickers and I'm all set.

RIP NU 107.5

Alas, I wasn't able to listen to NU's final hours before it officially signed-off to give way to some changes. Since I was so drained during last Saturday's event (Canon Photomarathon) plus my shift went after that.

Anyway, I still remembered how much appreciated NU's taste for music. But before that, I was so hooked with its rival LA 105.9 for its preference of Pinoy Rock and Pinoy Alternative Music. After LA vanished, I had no choice but to switch to NU 107. Since then, I appreciated its music as it evolved to a much better radio station.

I was also able to attend the NU Rock Awards last 2008 and I must say that was one of the most unforgettable events I have attended that year.

And now that one of the best radio station is gone, all I can hope (and pray) is that there would be another station out there that would satisfy my appetite for good music instead of having myself get contented with those mainstream radio stations out there.

The week that was (Oct 24 - 30)

Sunday: We left the place at around 1:30am since some of my friends were enjoying their conversation with their new friends in bikinis XD. We had our early breakfast at Chowking in Kalaw cor. Roxal Blvd before parting ways. I got home at around 3:00am and went to sleep right away. I got up at 6:30am then I went online for a while before getting myself ready to visit my folks in San Pedro. I kissed my wife goodbye for now but she insisted to go there with me so I had to wait for at least an hour before we could go. Traveling there was quite a breeze as we got there at 10:30am. My mom served us spaghetti for brunch which I gladly obliged. I don't know if there is someone out there who could better spaghetti than my mom but for now her spaghetti is the best I've ever eaten. Then I was able to take a nap in the afternoon and got myself recharged. We went back home at around 6:30pm and took us atleast two hours to get there. As soon as we go home, I did my laundry before going to bed to sleep.

Monday: Got up a bit early since I need to go online for a short time plus I had to watch WWE's Bragging Rights. Then I went online at around 11:00am to wait for 1:30pm (start of registration for Canon's Photo Marathon Manila Leg). All canon users were anticipating for that event that all of us can't wait for November 6 for the Manila Leg. I was supposed to go to BHS to register for their photography contest that I've read last October 17 but I decided to stay home since I'm feeling sleepy. It rained that night which made my the day much cooler.

Tuesday: I got up early again to go online for a while. Then I prepared myself to go to BHS to register for the photography contes. But going there was like hell for me. I had to wait for my turn to get in through the MRT and it took me at least 30 minutes of waiting to get inside the train. Once I got in, going to Makati was such a breeze. Then I took a bus going to BHS. Since I got there quite early, I just enjoyed the walk and looked for the place where I could register. Unfortunately, it won't be open until 2:00pm. and that time, I had to wait for 4 hours more to register. So I just left and went back home. I had a quick snack at Market Market before going back to Ayala. Then I took a bus to Ortigas to get something but I completely forgot once I got there. I passed by a traveling agency to check some itineraries for my possible trips in the future. I got home at around 12:30pm and went to bed to get some sleep. I've been doing this for the past 6-8 weeks and I'm still having difficulty adjusting to it 100%. I was able to get atleast 5-6 hours of sleep before reporting for office.

Wednesday: Work was much better since we were already 4 during the night shift (for now).I got home via the Ortigas-Legarda route. though I had my 20-peso taho, I still craved for something else. Hence, I had to take my pares meal at N. Domingo street before finally reaching home. Then when I got home, my wife requested a langgonisa meal with hot choco at Jollibee which I oblige. Then I went to be and was able to get some good sleep though the weather was quite warm during the afternoon.

Thursday: We've been playing PC games here since the phone is on day mode (US). Then by 5:00am, they transferred the phones back to us but we didn't encounter much calls during those times. After my 20-peso taho, I went to Jollibbe at Ortigas to have my breakfast. I tried to have two 39er meals for only 90 pesos with drinks included already. Then I went home to get some rest before attending Arra's despedida party. I went to Gateway at around 6:00pm to meet some of my friends so we could go to Shakey's in E. Rodgriguez Ave together. It was a short yet meaningful gathering of  friends as we just ate and share stories as well as take pictures. I arrived the office at around 11:00pm since I got stuck in traffic going to the office from Quezon City. Almost all of us were late but everything is all well and smooth.

Friday: Work was quite steady as we laughed all-night while listening to a radio station online. After our shift, I went home right away but had a quick breakfast at Jollibee in Ortigas before finally going home. It took me a while to get some sleep since the weather was quite warmer than usual. It took me a while before I got up and prepared for the day.

Saturday: Work was quite loaded as I was able to get 7 calls plus did some email requests. Then after my shift, I went home right away to get some sleep. I got up at around 2pm to go to SM Manila to deposit our savings plus paid our electric bill for the month of October. Then I grabbed some magazines since I had to complete my October set. Then I went back home to prepare to go to LAX at Pasay for the Premiere Vixens Victory Party

Movie Review: The Social Network

From Google

I remember more than a year ago was the last time I saw a movie on the big screen. I wasn't even married yet and as far as I remember, the last movie I watched was Twilight: New Moon with my then-girlfriend who happens to be my wife now.

Anyway, as far as I can remember, this would be my first review on the movie I watched on the big screen. This won't be as critical like other people who do movie reviews and I want to give my own point of view.

Basically, "The Social Network" is the story of how facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Eisenberg), a college student at Harvard University. He was your usual geek guy dating other chicks, and hanging out with his friends whom he considers his closest buddies.

After broking up with his girlfriend on a date, he tried to create a program that would compare one girl to the other in terms of how hot the girl is. That was an instant craze and soon, people from the University were checking out one girl after the other. That gave him an idea why not create a social networking site that would allow users to update their status, create their own personality and compared to myspace and friendster, he thinks this is much better. He elevated social networking to new heights that even up to now, they still find ways to make it much better and more attractive to users.

It was better but this didn't come easy as he also battles legal issues accusing him of stealing the idea from somebody else as well as other issues between him and co-founder Eduardo Saverin (played by Andrew Garfield).

In the end, I just a bit disappointed on how it ended. Well, at least there is proof that geeks do get chicks as well. XD

One down. Eleven to go.

For my contract that is. XD

So far, I am getting very used to working at nights. I know there are a lot of advantages working at night but there are some disadvantages. Not being with my wife at night when she needs me the most is one. I didn't know there were time that my wife gets up in the middle of the night because she either feels hungry or she wants something that she cannot get during that time.

Even I am learning at a good pace, my wife is suffering from this and sometimes, I want to go home in the middle of the night to check on her if she is ok. But for now, we both have to endure this and at the end of the day, everything will be ok. ^_^

A disappointing event at LAX

Last Saturday, my friends and I went to LAX to attend the Victory Party of  Vixens sponsored by Premiere Condoms and FHM. I was hesitant to attend this event since I had work on Saturdays and I filed a leave again for that.

After my Friday shift, I went home right away to get some much needed sleep. I got up at 2:00pm to attend some errands first before finally getting there. I took the usual route as I am going to the office. But I took the orange cab going to SM Mall of Asia. I got myself the latest issue of DPP before going to LAX. I got there at around 7:00pm but my friends were not there yet so I just strolled around the bay before I got hungry.

I was able to meet them at around 8:00pm and we joined the rest of the people who went there. We joined the people who were on queue. Unfortunately, our DSLR cameras are not allowed inside the venue so we had no choice but to leave it and put them in our friend's car. We were so upset that we won't be able to take pictures with it. What's more is that my friend's contact person is not yet there (the one in-charge in the guest list under his name). We had to wait for a few more minutes but most of us were decided just to hang-out at Hooters which is just near LAX. Actually, we were bent that all of us are getting to Hooters instead because of the frustration built up on us until my friends contact came.

We were able to go inside minus our cameras and tried our best to enjoy the show. Well, the show was good but I was shocked with the results. Instead of only one winner, there were three. It was a decision from the management themselves calling a triple tie. What happened to the online votes then? No offense to the winners (who are by the way as lovely and alluring as the rest), but its best to only have ONE winner instead of three. And I can't still help it but feel frustrated about what happened. Anyway, I learned some lessons in attending the event. Not to file my vacation leave for this.

Don't ask for pictures since were not allowed to bring our cameras inside =P
