Swabeng Food Trip: A Xocolatic Experience at Xocolat

Last Monday, before I went to Wilson Street in Greenhills to get some food for my wife and my baby girl, I passed by Greenhills Shopping Center to try out the food from Xocolat. It was an unplanned as I am thinking only of going there to look for clothes to buy in the future. But anyway, I looked for Greenhills Promenade since that is where Xocolat is located. Also, I have 2 vouchers with me from cashcashpinoy and I had to use one.

When I got there, I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping that the place was enclosed. But it turns out to be that the place is open on the inside (I hope you get what I mean XD). The place was dimly lit but I prefer it that way but its not suitable for taking pictures especially if your camera has cannot take good pictures under low light. But anyway, I was up for the challenge in taking food shots under low light. It took me a while to choose what will I eat as I just ate lunch back home.

Now with the food. First that I tried were The Goatcheese Salad (195 pesos) and Pumpkin Soup (75 pesos). The Goatcheese Salad has mixed greens with goat cheese (kesong puti), candied pili, in strawberry vinaigrette. Both of them were good and really gave me an appetite that I look forward to try the next dish. The soup was really affordable as opposed to the salad but didn't mind.

Then I had Xocolat Chicken Pasta (175 pesos) which was the highlight of the meal. I'm sorry to say but I wasn't impressed with my pasta. It was just a plain pasta with chicken strips tossed in light creme sauce with cacao-rubbed chicken strips and topped with chocolate shavings. I was hoping my pasta has chocolate sauce with a spicy/salty hint plus more chocolate of course. Maybe next time I'll try their other pasta dishes sometime soon.

For the finale, I had Double Xoco Cheesecake (125 pesos) and Dark Xoco Ganache (145 pesos) as my refreshment. The Dark Xoco tasted just fine as it was sprinkled with premium cacao powder. I'm no expert with chocolates as I usually classify it between tastes good and tastes bad XD. The Double Xoco Cheesecake was one for the books. It tasted so good that I had to melt it in my mouth to savor its richness.

I would definitely come back to Xocolat to get some heavenly slices of their cakes for my wife and probably try their other dishes probably at their Katipunan branch. Anyways, here are some more pictures I took. ^_^

  7. Xocolat - every meal has chocolate. Not that unique but I'm tired of drinking Milo ever morning in replace of coffee... I better try Xocolat drinks when I visit the Philippines again.
