Always be reminded (Taken from Google)
I've been active in 2-4 blog groups in Facebook for almost 2 months now and I'm also actively participating in their comment exchanges. Though I've been receiving some comments on my new found blogger-friends (Thanks a Bunch! Much Appreciated =D ), there are still those who are hesitant to visit my blog because they said it has content warning. Even some wanted me to remove my content warning as they say they will not visit my site if I don't remove it.
So what is content warning in a nutshell (my description)?
This is how you'd see my blog for first time viewers =P
It's reminder that the following contents may contain some themes, languages, images, videos and other things that may not be suitable for young viewers. It is always advised that adults should supervise their young ones whenever they check on a website. For those who wanted to take a sneak-peak (XD), that's entirely up to you to find out.
Just think of it as a Rated PG (Parental Guidance) or SPG (Strong Parental Guidance) reminder from the MTRCB. It's easy right? =). There's no harm in comparing the two as both would serve as reminders to everyone.
Rated SPG! (Taken from Google)
Let me assure you first that most of my posts here are safe. Also, I DON'T post any PORNOGRAPHIC material here nor endorse any PORN SITE in any way to anyone. Even porn sites have content warnings of their own to warn viewers that what they about to see or hear may be sensitive to ones views.
At the end of the day, if you ask me if I would remove my content warning page, I'd say NO =P.
Yes I did experience that when I first visited your site. But I appreciate the warning don't worry :)
ReplyDeleteit's your site and you have all the right to do what you want to do as long as it doesn't hurt anyone in any way. Anyways, WMYHT 100 day challenge on my site is " What Makes You Happy Today 100 Days Challenge" that I authored and maybe I'll try to make a meme for everyone to follow. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the warning and it somehow made me nervous. Lol. Fortunately, nothing's scary on your site. It's fine as well because you'll see the people who are willing to do the extra step to visit you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it's okay to have the warnings because not all bloggers are 18 and above and for me having that warning means you do not want to offend anyone who might not be very used to liberated stuff. It's perfectly fine, ika nga at least meron kang pasintabi... =)
ReplyDeleteWell, when I saw the warning at the very first time it made me more curios on what you really have in your blog. Its fine with me and its nice to have this kind of warning. Anyway, you have interesting blog so keep it up! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's your site, Kuya.. So kung feel mong kelangan lagyan ng warning, walang problema. But then, kapag first time visitor mo, magkakaroon ng hesitation na pagbukas ng site mo. Honestly.. yun ang reaction ko..
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it's your decision po.. and there is nothing wrong with that. At least, kung meron man mabasa na medyo offensive, at least they have been warned.
nung first time ko dito sa blog mo, kala ko rated 18! haha!
ReplyDeletepero di pala :>
At first I thought it was also R-18 but when I saw that it wasn't and it was actually coherent and made sense, I felt happy that I gave it a go.
ReplyDeleteThe warning is great. I don;t mind.
ReplyDeleteit is worth trying for.warning is really scary but it is our choice to open or not the site.
ReplyDeletehahaahhaah!!! natawa ako bout porn posting..lol..maybe blogger thought this is malicious because of the word "pogi" in your domain? i'm not teasing you..but this is what i usually notice from Blogger..
ReplyDeleteI was never hesitant hehe I think I am an adult to be able to handle any post you put here, porn or not. I understand why you have to do it.
ReplyDeletei thought the warning is for non PG content or some malware...di bale lahat naman kami adults na ;) we can handle mature topics...
ReplyDeletehonestly, nung una ko kita nung warning, kinabahan din ako kung iclick ko ba, pero ok naman site mo. =)
ReplyDeleteaha, I was hesitant at first but I still entered ^_^
ReplyDeletethanks for the warning.. im glad may warning para alam nang lahat
ReplyDeleteThanks for the clarification. To be honest at first that's the first thing on my mind when I saw the warning that your blog maybe xxx.. Hehe
ReplyDeleteI really thought may malware or porn site hahaha . Thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteI actually hesitant to visit but due to my responsibility to comment I had no choice, but if I haven't known you or putting to my shoes to a first time visitor I wouldn't dare
ReplyDeleteThe first time i bumped here i was scared cause all i thought it has a virus or whatnot haha but now i'm used to it :D
ReplyDeleteWell I thought its a porn site! They usually have it
ReplyDeleteBefore I was really hesitant to open your blog. I might open a lewd pix inside here. But I dared to open it and I found nothing explicit foul language or porn pictures. Now that I know I don't have any second thought anymore in opening this blog.
ReplyDeleteyou also can't blame them though... alam mo na, medyo may pagka-paranoid ang ilan... hehehe
ReplyDeleteYou have your reasons why you have to place some kind of warning in this site. I respect that. Perhaps it's a style or some kind of teaser because as you wrote here and I quote:
ReplyDelete"Let me assure you first that most of my posts here are safe. Also, I DON'T post any PORNOGRAPHIC material here nor endorse any PORN SITE in any way to anyone." - there's really nothing to worry about, so why the need to put a warning? So I concluded - it's your teaser and it's your style! So go for it.
I respect your reason for doing that. But at first I thought your site has a virus or something. hehe
ReplyDeletehmmm. but when i encounter such, first thing that comes to mind is the content may be pornographic so i go right ahead...hehe. joke. but seriously, it makes people afraid to go further...
ReplyDeletevisiting via FBW
The warning worked on me... I had to check if my daughter is behind me.
ReplyDeleteI understand why people would be afraid to look further into the site because of the warning. With all the viruses nowadays... Hay! Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI get your point. Lol. But yeah, I admit I am hesitant at first to visit your site expecting some photos, language, etc that I might uncomfortable with. But I just took the courage and now I am liking your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI completely understand your thoughts Mark. Your blog contain strong language not suitable for minors. Well, there is nothing wrong about it. That's you! It's your ways of expressing yourself. I have no problem with your blog. Honesty, I start learning your style of photography. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI personally don't mind the warning. I've read blogs which had really disturbing content and language, and yours is still decent enough so no problemo ;)
ReplyDeletesabi nga ni JUlie it is your site..do whatever pleases you..
ReplyDelete..natakot akong mag click ha! hahahah..first time ko rin dito..
pero dahil curios ako go lang...
~sheng~
I don't mind the warning as well though I deem your site safe and has really good content.
ReplyDeleteIt can drive readers away. But for those who knows you, they wouldn't mind.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Archie. But then again, it's your blog and you're the best person to be the judge of this.
ReplyDeleteYou almost drove me away, actually, LOL. And then I remembered one admin telling me from months back that your content is safe, so here I am.
ReplyDeleteNung unang pagpunta ko sa blog mo, akala ko porn site. hahaha
ReplyDeletematutuwa na sana ako, akala ko porno site. LOL Swabe naman pala. For general patronage naman pala.
ReplyDeleteYung totoo akala ko nong una porno site kaya hesitant ako pero dahil curious ako I still check it out, hahahaha. Ayun! GP naman pala. No worries, I do appreciate the warning kasi there will be times na hindi natin maiiwasan that there are stuff na ma-ipost natin that is not good for the young ones.
ReplyDeletewell even for me who have been to this site would always get alarmed whenever I see your landing page hehehe... well walang basagan ng trip, so you might be marginalizing possible young people with open mind hehehe...
ReplyDeleteiniisip ko nga kung anong makikita ko rito e. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteLike what everybody mentioned above I do too feel the hesitation to go further more..then I realized that your link came from FBW syndication and it might just you have some adult content and with that you want to warn us firsthand..and like what Archie and Adeline its your blog you can do whatever you please...
ReplyDeleteOk lang yun. At least may pagbibigay babala. Karapatan mo yun at nirerespeto namin.
ReplyDeleteinitially, i also wonder what content would be with the warning... :)
ReplyDeleteThat is your rights. Just go ahead if that's what u want.
ReplyDeleteIt's better to be careful than sorry. It's good to advise readers about what you think you rate your blog "safety". It's good analogy that you did for the MTRCB. It's very considerate of you.
ReplyDeleteGawin mo gusto mo but there is no total freedom because you are just the sender of the message, you cannot control the receiver of the message. Therefore, be responsible is the motto we all bloggers should be reminded of. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is a free country, you can do what you want.
ReplyDeletei also thought there were some porno in your blog seeing the warning .. hahaha ...but at least it is now clear ...
ReplyDeleteHahaha.. Tigas lang ng ulo markpogi! hahahaha.. Sige, keep your warning! Hehe. That way, your blog is remembered well. XD Trademark kung baga.
ReplyDeleteThe warning is fine with me though I felt hesitant on my first visit. You have the right not to remove it.
ReplyDeleteWell honestly, there is a little part in me that hesitates to visit your blog because of the warning. But then again, I have to do my duty to reciprocate.
ReplyDeleteat first medyo na alarm ako sa warning ng site mo, katagalan nasanay na rin binabasa ko rin kasi muna ang content bago ako nag cocomment or mag like =)
ReplyDeleteIt's always your prerogative to remove or keep that warning, but if you think that your content is safe for all ages, as user of your blog, I cast 1 vote for the removal of that warning. ^_^
ReplyDeletenever hesitated... sometimes, we have articles not suitable for minors which are not necessarily porn. it's your blog... you have all the right to do whatever you want with it. Yahweh bless.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw your warning, I decided not to proceed as I usually have my young children beside me when I use the computer. So I just tried another time and saw nothing to be wary of so...
ReplyDeleteLol, I was shocked when I opened this blog. I thought it is a porn site but it is nice to know that create an awareness to your readers. but as a blogger without any malicious contents, don't put a warning so that your readers will not hesitate to visit your blog. :D
