Martial Law: 39 years after

While today is the International Day of Peace, it was also the day former President Ferdinand Marcos declared Martial Law. It was an of military rule by military authorities meant to maintain national order and security. It was also a time that no one is above the law and anyone who oppose were dealt with to the full extent of the law. Prominent people from the media, and politics who were against martial law were not spared. Thousands have died and more have gone missing.

Some may say that life became better after martial law, but others say it has gone for the worse. Saying its economy was the result of the post martial law era.
