This would be our contribution to the group. As much as possible, we won’t be using the word OC (since it has been overused here already) and we would detail our rating so it could serve you as a guide. Our verdict is based on how we coordinated with them (from start to finish) and it shouldn’t be a sole basis whether you book this certain supplier or not (different strokes for different folks). Here is how we would be rating our wedding team. Sorry for the very long delay XD.

Bridal/Ento Bouquet: Jairelle’s Flower Shop by Boy Mahusay

Contact: Mang Boy Mahusay / Mang Jon Macaraeg
Cost: Php 9,000 + Php 300 for additional offertory (2009 rate)

Wedding Kwento: My wife wanted Black Magic roses on her wedding day but Jo-Anne said it was quite expensive hence she looks for an alternative. After sometime (not getting the entire wedding package), we were shocked when we found out that Jo-Anne quoted us 18K (discounted) for the flowers. The flowers costs 1K each for 1MOH, 2BM, 3SS, 6PS, 2FG and 2Moms while 5K for my wife.

After she told Jo-Anne that we will be looking for flowers ourselves, we immediately considered most of the dangwa florists (like it or not, Dangwa is considered the flower capital in Metro Manila plus my wife’s place is just 5 minutes away from Dangwa. We (or should I say she) considered Angel of Hearts and even Eloquente’s in-house florist Amarthus in our list before booking Mang Boy. I just mentioned Mang Boy to her after reading hundreds of reviews (good and bad) about him.

Mang Boy was the first supplier my wife book without me by her side (she was with her sister). According to my wife, Mang Boy was not there because he delivered flowers that day, but she was able to talk to Mang Jon. Good thing Mang Jon knew one of the church coordinators (Loreto/St Anthony Parish) where my wife resides and thus they were able to build good rapport. Mang Jon even said that they would really made her flowers beautiful since he found out that my wife live 5 minutes away (that took my worries away). She wondered how I know about the contract written in his famous yellow pad (his trademark in w@w).
During the day, I don’t know if my wife was quite disappointed or not with her bouquet since she wasn’t able to envision her dream bouquet that day. Her bouquet was nice though as well as for the entourage and for the principal sponsors as well. It really looked good in picture but it would look better if the bouquet was really round. Though I forgot to take it with us after our first night (I left it at the Hotel’s freezer XD ).

Realization: Good thing my wife was not very OC when it comes to flowers, otherwise we could have spend more than 20K. For her, as long as they were able to duplicate the design she wanted, she would be fine with that (as well as me of course). It would also be better if you would suggest your florist to have a mock-up (Bridal/Ento and/or Table Set-Up) to see if it would please your eyes.
Recommended for: Brides who are not very particular with their flowers yet wanted it done in taste and for couples who are on a budget.

Other Suppliers Considered (Given the same amount of time for preparations): Angel of Hearts, Amarthus, or any supplier in Dangwa probably.
If we started our preparations last Dec 2007, we could have gotten: Teddy Manuel, April and Karen Yu, Kablooms by Sunday Cabagay, Vatel Manila
