I guess I have to be watchful of the duration next time. XD

Sizzling Covergirls for April

Before I do fasting and penance for April, I need to get my monthly dose of my magazines this April. What should I get?

1. FHM: Michelle Madrigal: Now a three-time cover-girl, looking at the cover makes one want to quench-off with a tall glass of lemonade (a tall mug of beer for adults). My friend Arra Castro is also one of the FHM Babes inside the magazine.

2. Esquire Philippines' Bianca Gonzales: Now she's going sexy after posing for another men's magazine a few years back. A very active netizen, I'm sure her followers (including me) would storm out to the nearest bookstore to grab a copy.

3. Rogue's Solenn Heusaff: Magnum's Princess is also a three-time cover-girl for Rogue (I have yet to complete my set here).  If you notice that she's covered in a chocolate-like cloth holding an ice cream bar. It seems to me that her advertisement has been extended until here.

4. Playboy Philippines' Wilma Doesnt: With my set complete (after acquiring May 2008 and September 2009), I may have the drive to complete my set until my daughter would inherit it XD. Its also their 4th anniversary issue with the title Embracing All Colors. I have yet to check what's inside.

I am wondering what's for UNO as I haven't heard from them for quite sometime now.

Do you think I need to do separate reviews for each magazine? Let me know. ^_^

So what are you waiting for? XD

FHM Autograph Signing August 2010: Priscilla Meireles

This event was a bit challenging on my part since the signing itself started from 7pm-8pm and I won't be able to leave the office until 7pm. BUT, I did something I haven't done in a long time. Go to the event then go back to the office to log-out. XD

But this requires planning and some luck as there might be some issues that I have to attend to while I'm away. Well luck was on my side and I was able to sneak-out for a couple of hours to attend this event. Together with my friend Alex, We went to Robinson's Galeria to attend the said event. Good thing we were able to get there before the event started.

Then we were able to meet Priscilla in person. Actually, this would be the second time I would meet her since the first time was during UNO's Real Hot 100 party back then in 2008. I still remember how tall and pretty she was back then. Now, she is still the same as she wasback in 2008, only taken by John Estrada. Thank God she posed for FHM first before deciding to settle down for good. I was also able to have my picture taken with her as well as have my magazine signed as well. After the event, I immediately went back to the office to log-off before going home.

I'll try to post some pictures soon. XD

My Hotter Summer Nights Experience

If I could split myself into two (as well as my cameras), I could have attended both Bimmerfest and HSN. But I have to spend more time here (HSN).

I arrived there at almost 4:00pm and scouted the area. The place was quite huge. I mean the parking space since its outside NBC Tent and the floor plan that they made was fine with me. I was able to meet-up some friends there and we took pictures at around 4:45pm since the sun was setting quite fast. I was able to take pictures of the cars as well as the models as the sun sets down.

Then as the night progresses, the Bikini Fashion Show was quite disappointing unlike the previous HSN that I have attended 2 years ago. I hope next year would be much better than this one.

FHM Autograph Signing April 2010: Kristel Moreno

This event coincides with the 4th day of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2010. I was at WTC as early as 1pm to take pictures of the models at the said carshow. Me together with some friends went inside and walk around the area to take more photos before the autograph signing.

By 3:45pm, we went to the lobby to join other fans to have our FHMs signed by no less than Kristel Moreno herself. The place isn't that crowded and the ambiance was just right. However, the presence of bouncers in this event made some (or probably most) attendees uncomfortable. They were doing their job in ensuring security within the area but their looks were like kinda harrassing the fans once they get close to Kristel. They would really stare at you and your magazine as she (Kristel) signs up for you. One bouncer even shouted at us for placing our bags on the floor. I don't know why he did that but for me its not right. We just placed our bags on the floor for a while for us to get ready with our turn and all of a sudden he shouted at us like he wants us to go away.

But anyway, we had our FHMs signed as well as our photos taken with Kristel. She's actually nice and charming and made her fans (including me) happy since our magazines were signed. I hope that for May, there wont be anymore bouncers to agitate the fans.

FHM Autograph Signing March 2010: Bangs Garcia minus Iwa Moto

Ms. Valerie "Bangs" Garcia

Yesterday, my mind was all-set to attend the autograph signing of FHM's Iwa and Bangs though it was a month late (no thanks to conflicting schedules). Even if our magazine was already sined by Bangs (Iwa should have also signed it no thanks to the bouncers) during the FHM X party, we still attended the event to have our copy also signed by Iwa.

Hours before the event, my friend told me that Iwa wont be able to make it due to sprain. It was even posted in her Facebook account. That made us even more sad but still, we have to attend to catch-up with our friends. I logged-off at 6:02pm to catch the bus going to Robinsons Galeria. It was still rush hour then thats why I got there at around 7:00pm.

The event has already started

As I hurriedly went to the movieworld, I noticed there was no line at sight at the KFC area. For a moment I was thinking that the autograph signing was already finished and people left off. To my surprise, the place was not that filled with people. Its like just a regular autograph signing. I was like, why. We know that both Bangs and Iwa are few of the hottest in the TV screens today that even if one of them is not available, the other would be able to make sure that the crowd was there. I didn't mind at all because I don't have to wait and fall in line just to get a glimpse of Bangs. My camera will be put into a test whether or not the problem in its auto-focus will be fixed. After my turn to have my magazine signed by Bangs and have my photo taken with her, the pictures were quite OK. No signs of oof (out of focus) pictures taken though I still need to practice more on how to position myself to get a good angle.

 Gamely posing for photographers.

What I noticed is that even if the line was too short, the bouncers were still strict up to a point that probably Bangs herself. Also, they (bouncers) dictate on what page could Bangs sign on the magazine. On my case, the bouncer said its only the front cover but I made sure to have the page where she would sign be open. And come on, who needs bouncers if the people who will fall in line to have their FHM's signed are disciplined enough to act in front of other people. I have nothing against them but its better if they stay in clubs where they could be really helpful.

 Happy Fan! XD

After the event, I spend more time with my friends over dinner, exchanging funny stories with what happened with whom before heading home. Even if I am tired the whole day, I went to bed that night smiling knowing that another event has been conquered. XD

My FHM Xperience (FHM's 10th Anniversary Party)

After getting my tickets to the FHM's 10th Anniversary Party last Tuesday,  I immediately think of someone whom I could take with me to the event. I asked my wife if she wanted to but she refused. Anyway, come Thursday, I made sure I finished all what needs to be done before going to the event.

I was the second to arrive and we ate dinner at KFC so that we would have enough energy for the night. We have to walk for at least 10 minutes since we didn't saw any available taxi passing through McKinley Road. Once we got there, we have to join the queue as others came before us. There were even those who didn't have any tickets but still show up and waited outside. This would be my first major event without my camera since its still under repair =(

As we got inside, we were treated with free food (courtesy of Hooters and another Caterer), free drinks (courtesy of Coors Light) and free entertainment courtesy of FHM. If we only knew earlier that there would be free food, we should have decided to skip dinner at KFC and help ourselves there but still I have enough room for more. XD. The last time we got a VIP treatment in this kind of event was during 2007 (FHM's call to arms) with the venue held where it happened more than 2 years ago.

Together with my good friends as well as with my fellow FHM Bullboarders, we partied the night away and had a good time. While others were watching the program proper, my friends and I went to the front lobby to have our pictures taken with the FHM Babes who were in the 25 Hottest FHM Babes of the Decade. Here are some proof why these kinds of party really rocks courtesy of my friends Richard, Alex, Jase and Vince. XD

That's me with FHM Babe Janna Domingez XD

This time with 2004 GND and fellow Bullboarder Sofie Garrucho

With FHM Vixen Jahziel Manabat aka Jessie Medina (Sa wakas, nakapagpapicture na rin ako sa kanya XD)

FHM Class of 2010. XD

The event ended early but we stayed there until 12mn since we had to catch-up on each other on how we were doing. I got home with a smile. XD

Again, Congratulations to FHM and its Editorial Team for a job well done and being the first in the business to reach ten years. ^_^

FHM X (A review)

It was like forever (a week actually) before this Magazine was available to the public. I begin searching for this special issue as early as Tuesday but it wasn't released until late Friday afternoon. After I bought my own copy, I went straight home to see what's inside. With much excitement, I opened it while traveling on jeep and by bus. As soon as I reach home, I went straight up to the room and browse through the pages of this magazine one by one.

I like the way they feature their feats and accomplishments dating from 2000 up to 2009 (FHM Decade in Review). Though I would suggest that they should at least allot more pages for each year since I believe FHM has done a lot year after year after year.

As for the 25 Sexiest FHM Babe of the Decade, I couldn't agree more. They could have pulled off a 100 sexiest women of the decade but I think it would be next to impossible to rank them in a short span of time. I forgot my own list of 25 Sexiest FHM Babe of the decade (I joined an online contest courtesy of fhm.com.ph) so I don't know if all of my bets were included.

For the girls who were featured the first time (or second time) the pages given to them was like they are the cover girl themselves. In a way they probably feel that they are the cover girl but I think soon, they will. XD

With Iwa Moto and Bangs Garcia as cover girls, it was really worth it. Though a lot of people were expecting Angel Locsin as the cover girl (should have been her 4th FHM appearance), I think FHM really did well on having both Kapamilya and Kapuso hot ladies on cover. Iwa's shoot was done on a flyover at night time probably to avoid a lot of people watching particularly stalkers XD. And Bangs did it in an Airport Hangar that made people stop what they're doing. XD

All in all, the magazine was really a STEAL considering it costs 195Php  compared with other men's magazine for this month that usually costs 180 and up.

The Final piece of the Puzzle (FHM #1)

Last December 9 2009, I was able to get a hold of one of the rarest magazines in the Philippines. That would be the very first issue of FHM Philippines or better known as FHM#1. It took me almost 10 years before I could hold one and call it mine.

To begin with, I started collecting FHM during my college days particularly during my final semester. I was contemplating back then which magazine should I collect. Then I stumbled upon this issue (FHM #4) at SM Manila and I really liked the content. for only 100php, it was really worth it, nevermind getting hungry at times. After getting FHM #4, I started to look for past issues. However, I only got issues 2 and 3 since all bookstores I've been through, they mentioned that it (FHM #1) already sold-out.

As years go by, I still continue to collect FHM and on December 9, I got an SMS from a friend's contact. He was selling his spare FHM #1 for 2000php. He even mentioned that the magazine was in very near mint condition. Without hesitation, I decided to meet-up with the seller and checked the Magazine thoroughly before considering it mine. All mine! XD

I went home so delighted that after almost 10 years, my FHM collection is now complete. Here are some pictures that I've took from my delirious camera.

My next target is to win the entire FHM Collection =P

And the grand prize for the FHM X Promo is...

I got this from FHM's website and I'm looking forward to another set of collection. If you want to join, read more below.

By now, you all know about the cute little promo that is FHM X: 100 Days, wherein we give a prize a day to a lucky dude, who knows way too much about FHM.

And at one point or another—and maybe more than others—you've participated and hopefully have won in that countdown of the game.

But we're stepping up the game. Because for Day 1, that is, the last day of promo, we're giving away the complete set of FHM Philippines (exclusive of specials like the FHM Lingerie book and the like, take note!).

That's right, ten years worth of FHM, from our very first issue in March 2000 all the way to our forthcoming March 2010 offering.

Obviously, such an incredible, incredible, incredible prize—not even FHM staffers can boast of having such a collection—comes with an incredible, incredible question. And that is why, we are giving you approximately a month to think about it.

Here are the special guidelines for Day 1. Take note because we will not entertain spammers, freeloaders, and haters who are out to ruin the fun.

1. There won't be any specified number of commenter anymore.

2. One entry per person only.

3. Only 100-word answers only. And yes, we will be strict with the word count.

4. We will inform you of how you can submit your entries when on a later date. This is to allow you to really think about your answers, as well as to keep order of the day. Again, spammers will not be entertained.

If, for example, you decide to send your answer via a personal message to editors through the bull board or send an email, before the given date, sorry, you will have used your chance. Which means you can no longer join (please see Rule Number 2).

Clear? Good. Now onto the question: In 100 words Why do you deserve the complete FHM collection? Ten years' worth of FHM is no joke so the most compelling, the most heart-warming, the most moving answer gets the prize. All entries will be read by a select team of judges.

Good luck, kids. And remember, fun is all we want have. It's our 10th birthday!

Edit: FHM won't cover for shipping expenses so unless you've somebody to claim prize on your behalf, contest is open to Metro Manila residents only. Thanks!

Wish us all Luck XD

FHM Autograph Signing: Valerie Concepcion

If only I was able to attend the autograph signing last July (but I wasn't able to because it was my last day before my terminal leave), my streak could have been extended. But anyway, its my third straight attendance since August and I'm looking forward to duplicate that streak or even surpass it.

 The stage has been set
Anyway, I attended the FHM Autograph Signing a while ago at Robinsons Galeria where FHM covergirl Valerie Concepcion will sign our FHMs. I had my latest FHM with me but unfortunately, I forgot to bring my July 2006 FHM where she was also the covergirl.

I still remember the night that we met her for the first time during the UNO Lounge Party dedicated for her. However, we weren't able to have our picture taken with her because of an unfortunate incident where an old friend was involved (as a consolation, she went out of the VIP room for a while and sign our magazine (UNO plus FHM and MAXIM on the side).

Moving forward, I arrived at the venue at around 4:30pm since the event would start by 5:00 pm. I was able to meet my friends there like Ralph, Richard, Rod, Robin, and Vince before the event started. As Valerie went up the stage, I immediately took pictures of her as well as my friends. We made sure to have a small talk with her while she signs our FHM during our turn as well as had our pictures taken with her. Valerie was so nice and bubbly that day that made us took more pictures of her while goofing around. Though she didn't sign all of the pages I marked for her plus her signature inside the pages consists of her initials with a heart, I didn't mind it much since I was able to get a glimpse of her up close and  personal (but this time, we were able to have a small talk).

We wanted to stay at the event longer but our stomachs tell us that we have to eat. And before we left, we made sure all of us were smiling since our FHM was signed by Ms Valerie Concepcion. TCVC. XD

Nth Encounter with Cristine Reyes

Yes, this would be the 4th time that we would be meeting Cristine Resyes in person as FHM hosted another autograph signing for her since she was the covergirl for September. It has been 2 years and a month since the last time she graced the cover of FHM and even had 2 autograph signing sessions (I have attended only the first one).

Going there from SM Megamall didn't take us that long being a Sunday. Together with my Fiancee and some of my good friends, we arrived there at around 5:30-5:45pm and we were quite surprised that the line is already long (tailend at KFC). We see some of our good friends already lined-up and ready for the signing. Usually, we used to be always first in line or within the first 10-20 people in front but it did't much matter if we have to wait for a while before our turn.

While waiting, there were two promo girls giving out samples of Cobra Energy Drink and took some to quench our thirst (Their booth is located near the stage). And we spotted Ryza Cenon adn EB Babe Saida while were in line. Then Sam YG (aka Shivaker) began hosting the event signaling the start of the much awaited autograph signing.

As the autograph signing started, we tried to take some pictures of her while waiting for our turn. And it almost took us an hour before we were able to set foot on their stage. But before that, we were informed by the FHM staff that Cristine will be sign the cover ONLY. Most of us (as well as the autograph signing veterans) were surprised about that policy. Will they bring that old rule back? I hope not because if they do, a lot of people will vent out. Moving forward, I was able to a have a small talk with her and tell her how long we've waited for her to cover again for FHM. I wanted to ask her if it was a special request that she would only sign the cover but I'd rather not ask. I thank her for signing my FHM (another priceless FHM added to my collection), and more importantly, have our picture taken. I looked a bit small in the picture since Cristine was wearing high heels that time. XD

After most of us were done with the signing, we tried to take photos of her once more for a few times before we left the stage. We even saw EIC Allan Madrilejos himself and thank him for getting Cristine to cover once more. Some of us even asked why Robin Padilla did not have an autograph signing. We parted ways after dinner with a smile on our face waiting for the next FHM Autograph Signing. ^_^

FHM Hunting + Unli-Chow

Since our scheduled appointment at Robinsons Galeria was canceled yesterday, we decided to go to Robinson's Place Manila instead to spend the rest of the afternoon there.

It was me and my fiancee who went there just hanging around the mall, looking for cheap buys (btw, she prefers affordable clothes as opposed to the expensive ones).

Then we went to booksale to get some magazines there. I was able to get a hold of FHM's 2 latest issues, the Sept 09 issue and the third installment of the ladies confession (celebrity diaries).  Everytime i buy an FHM, she gets to read it first before I do XD. She was also able to buy a hardbound book for only 35 pesos (sobra nga talaga ang kakuriputan ano po? XD).

Then for Dinner, we settled at Chowking located at the 4th floor. I was curious with Chowking's unlichow since it offers various dishes that I mostly liked. Since she doesn't eat much, I was the one who got the unlichow. For me, it was fair enough though since I had more than enough of their pork spareribs, beef siomai, breaded fish fillet, spring rolls and their canton guisado. If I could give my feedback to their manager, they should have simply put all their menu in their buffet. that way, they would earn more. ^_^

After dinner, my taste buds craved for dessert. We just shared Dairy Queen's rocky road and spend more time before heading home. ^_^
